Hello bloggers…

Today I bring you quite a different wedding story, but one that shouldn’t surprise you based on my history with daredevil clients.  They seem to gravitate towards me and I couldn’t be happier about that.  From shooting in the Florida Everglades with alligators around us, to Mexican caves with bats over our heads, and now to rappelling off the 19th floor of a building after saying I do!!  That’s right Rebecca and Carlos and myself joined a massive charity effort to raise money for children in need through the Miami Children’s Initiative.  A weekend-long event were participants had to raise $1500 to be able to rappel.  Luisana “Lu” Cavallo was the mastermind behind the idea and boy did it work.  This event raised more than 100,000 dollars which will go directly to help the children of Liberty City.

If we all opened our hearts and our wallets like this more often this world would be a better place.  If you still want to donate to this great cause you can, by clicking on the link below.  No donation is too small or too late, and these children need all the help they can get.

Here’s the groom Carlos, “getting ready” for the big leap!

Quite a different picture from my usual gown pictures with perfect lighting and a neat room with bride’s maids around lol

Sometimes the Brides freak out on the wedding day when the dress doesn’t fit, and it always works out, even if you have to close it with zip-ties.  Gotta do what you gotta do, no going back at this point!!

A few minutes of training before the leap…

And here comes the bride.  If you think it’s bad when everyone brings out their iphones when the bride is coming down the aisle, imagine this wedding.  Every single person had a camera, every major news station was there, helicopters, people watching from balconies, the pool area surrounded by people.  It was nearly impossible to get a clean shot but we managed.

A quick wardrobe change to adjust for the task ahead…

Besides vows they exchanged their own homemade bacon.  Something special to them, and from what I heard it was good!!!!

Most people’s stress peaks up until the kiss and then it’s smooth sailing from there.  Not them lol

Down they go.  I had to stay up to catch some shots of them going down and then I was able to descend on the groom’s line.  However there were only two lines set up so only the lucky bride has pictures in mid air.  I had to wait until the groom touched ground while the bride waited for me for over 20 minutes while I was rappelling.

Even though there was only two lines set up I wasn’t going to let that stop me.  I had one of the guys there hold me while I leaned over to get some of the pictures.

and then Bam!!!!

And now it’s time for me to go down.  No wedding planner to change my shoes so I had to do it in dress shoes.  lol

What a rush.  Thank you Kevin for capturing the behind the scenes!!

At this point we had taken to long already so they started lowering us without our control.  I locked my safety line to see if I could buy myself a few extra minutes but nada, both lines started going down, which was a bit scary until I realized what was happening.

But I kept shooting and even I only had a few minutes with her in the air they were well worth it.

And then a few minutes of pictures that the hotel required.

This was an amazing experience that I cannot wait to repeat or outdo.  Calling all crazy brides and grooms out there.  You got a crazy idea…I’m your guy.

Rebecca and Carlos I hope you cherish these images forever and enjoy them as much as I enjoyed shooting them.  We wish you a long life of happiness, crazy adventures and lots of bacon!
